Non-Human Vegetarians

These animals, referred to as herbivores, are animals that are vegetarian in nature. They feed only on vegetables and plants and show no interest whatsoever in eating other animals for meat.

Gorillas

These herbivores are magnificient creatures. An average silverback can stand about 5'9" tall and can weigh around 30 stone. They have huge canine teeth, which are only used for chomping on hard vegetables and may be used for defense. They are peaceful animals and will not attack unless provoked, whilst defending their territory.

Bull

These magnificient animals are massive! They generally weigh about 130 stone! Being a male cow they only eat plants, grass and vegetables. They are also gentle creatures however, if there is a need to protect their young then they will defend them plus all cows are known to charge when they are threatened and can cause serious injury, but are otherwise very gentle creatures if left alone, remember they only charge out of fear and not aggression.
Below is a real picture of a belgian blue bull, which is famous for a genetic abnormality known as "double muscling" which is caused by the suppression of myostatin which is a protein which inhibits muscle differentiation and growth. When myostatin is produced at much lower levels, muscles start to bulk and grow very large, causing the over muscular body.

Elephant

These massive animals are the largest land animal in the world. The largest of the elephant species is the African elephant which can be 20 ft long and the heaviest ever African elephant weighed a colossol 1857 stone! Elephants eat only vegetation, which includes shrubs, tree bark, bamboo shoots, sugar cane, plants and more.
They also do not attack unless provoked. Their natural habitat is being invaded by humans and this is the reason for certain attacks as they feel the need to protect their herd.

Giraffes

Girafffes are very large land animals, well known for their very long elongated necks. They live on leafs from trees and other vegetation. They are very gentle and tend not to socialise. The males and females tend to stay in separate herds.
Giraffes will only attack in self defense, their only predator is the lion. If the lion attempts to attack the giraffe the giraffe can kick out with it's back legs. Their kick is powerful enough to shatter a lion's skull or break their spine.
