A world without meat
A lot of people think that the world could not function meat-free since for one thing the world would be over populated with animals and there would not be enough food for everyone.
The world could not go vegetarian overnight, but you have to take into account that if we really were to take a big stance about not eating meat then the farmers would obviously stop breeding so many animals for meat production. We would then only have a natural selection of animals to live amongst us.
O-zone Layer
With the decrease in animals so comes the decrease in greenhouse gases like methane. These gases, which are made by the millions of animals bred for meat account for up to 1/4 of the world's greenhouse gases, so if we were to stop eating meat there would would be less animals to produce these gases which would result in the reduction of global greenhouse gases which in turn would lower the damage to the o-zone layer.
Food
If we were to stop eating meat then there would be more food to share around with the rest of the world and maybe create an end to world hunger.
For every four pounds of grains and vegetables that it takes to feed an animal only one pound of meat is created. This means that we are actually just wasting food.
Health
Obviously with meat out of the picture we would be more healthy and live a better quality of life. The number of people contracting heart diseases and cancers would go down and possibly weight related disease would go down through the loss of saturated fats from meats.
Money
If there was no production of meat then the money needed to be ploughed into the system could be better spent and put into resources which the world lacks. The money that is needed to feed the animals, house them and even kill them is immense, and it is all because people want to eat meat.
A more humane society
Psychologists have proven that people who harm animals are also more likely to harm humans.
This may sound like an obvious fact but many people may not be aware of this. Animals are used for food and hunting sports. Certain human beings may be compassionate towards other human beings but not so with animals because they see them as a different species.
